Conference Proposal:
"Using Adobe PhotoShop and Participatory Art Methodology to Engage Students."

"Photoshop is a powerhouse in the graphics industry but modern classroom techniques have taken this software giant and utilized it as a tool for active engagement and creative exchanges between students. I will be presenting the notion that using participatory art best seen in its most literal form, using the human participants designing the art is an online phenomenon. Recreating art using an online phenomenon of Photoshop Wars is forming a new dimension. I will have participants utilizing the software to send a single image back and forth, altered further, to expand the imagery and make learning fun."
"In this presentation we will discuss participatory art creation like PhotoShop Wars, the tools to create this art, and some of the uses for this new online art phenomenon. We will look at two distinct combinations using the Internet distinctly and in another case the Internet as the assembler in the participatory art form." This new media process can be a method for extending the teaching of art processes and include many paths for the student to extend their curiosity.
