It is great to get on the Jones blog and read/see what everyone is up to. Thanks Chris for getting this setup. I check it all the time for updates.
Mom you are so right...I am looking forward to the next 4 years with Obama. Finally change can happen! He is already busy making changes in only his first week in office. I am excited to see what happens next and am only optimistic that times will get better.
It has been cold here in Atlanta, but today is was in the upper 60's!
Chance is keeping me busy...he seems to need so much attention...and loves walks! Thanks to everyone for all the cards and phone calls on Max. Your support was truly appreciated. You can always count on family.
Work is going well. I thought there may be more layoffs soon, but it seems that they are going to try some other alternatives before they have to make that difficult decision. I am busy preparing W2's and working on setting up a voluntary life and short term disability program.
Hope to travel to see some family this year since I wasn't able to come home for Xmas.
Love, John

Well, here we go again!

I actually remembered to check the BLOG. It's good to see so many of you are attempting to keep it going. Kudos for Chris in taking the time out to let us know what's going on. I never think anything I do is worth bothering you guys about. Like . . . we repaired the electric fence, got a load of hay, harrowed the pasture, started taking down the bathroom wallpaper (a miserable job), babysat "Emmy", saw "Defiance" (great movie), went to Stock Show, etc., etc. See boring. Hope you're doing OK, John and you got the picture. What will all of you be doing on Obama's inauguration day? It's quite a historic occasion! Love, Bird

I am 10,000 days old today!
I thought that it was really neat that I caught it on this day. It puts a lot of things in perspective when I think about all that I have been through & accomplished in 10,000 days of my life. Go to this site to see how many days old you are http://www.peterrussell.com/age.php

My Best Friend...
sad news
To all Jones, Dad and I woke up to a bad phone call from John, he was crying and so sad to have lost his dog Max, hes been with john for yrs and slept with him, hes been to the doctor in october, but John was not thinking he was that bad to die in his car going to the vet, so all that hears about this give John a call, dad still misses Molly,,, other sad news is how bad our country is in...everday at work we hear somebody has lost their job, we feel for our grandchildren, as the depression was bad, being I was born then thats all I know when I was young, hungry , and cold, and no books or toys, sounds bad, I could tell more, but it would scare you,,, Dad thinks Obama should tell the world hes going to take the job at wall-street, the presidents job is too much, 3 wars, financial problems, jobs, housing problems,, too much for anybody,,,, Dad and I are still in good health, so our kids dont need to worry,, work is slow, weather is cold, looking forward with hopes for everybody to have a good yr,,,,,,, Thinking of you,, love mom

BIrd is soooo right about Marley and Me
Bird is SOOOO right about Marley and Me. I went with my friend Dana on bring your own tub night for popcorn and there were so many mature men and women crying in the theatre when ........well you know what happened to that dog that it was like when we went to see that movie with Beth where Michael Keaton died and Beth was crying so wierd we were laughing....
Dad and Mom should never see Marley and Me. I liked how they mixed the messages of living life and growing old with a dog......your friend even if he was a bad dog......he was the best dog. But, Mom and Dad don't see it. And John shouldn't see it either. He will cry also. Anyone that has loved a dog will cry. And I don't even have a dog and I cried.
Hope everyone is enjoying the great winter weather and just think soon it will be summer and we will all be sweating to death and wishing it was cool again. Hang in there down in Texas.

One day its 80 and the next 30
Well, here in ole TX you could die of the extremes. Yesterday was 80 and we had on sleeveless and today its 30. Its great to see the Bradfords and Flatts are hanging solid and was so happy to see Mary and Marranda are out and about. Got some movie reviews . . . Dont bother to see "The Spirit" or "The Day the Earth Stood Still". Take a kleenex to "Marley & Me". Cant recommend really anything right now. Am looking forward to "Slumdog Millionaire" (Academy Award material, I hear) and "Star Trek" (I'd have to living with Chuck). All contact me via email to update Jones Address list sometime this week. Love, Bird
