Well, I'm sitting here listening to Etta James singing "At Last" and it fits with my life right now....AT LAST.......(by the way the song the president and first lady danced to on their inauguration)....
AT LAST.......I HAVE A JOB......AT LAST......I"M MAKING MONEY....lol
This was a great "BIRTHDAY" weekend, week....day. From Friday when all my kids, boyfriend, cats and husband went to Medici's to today when me and Jim went to see DOUBT......it was a great time.
Some HIGHLIGHTS:
1. Watching bill mahr in "Religiously" with my kids was fun. Going to Medici's in downtown Normal ...with my 20 somethings and 16 year old was an experience.
2. Meeting Mom and Dad in Peoria to " Steak and Shop" was fun also. Especially when mom had me try on clothes and take my picture in the dressing room. hahaha. NEW RECESSION TIP: you don't have to buy the clothes....just try them on and take pictures and post them.......just kidding. Mom bought the clothes........it was just really, really funny....see picture of mom and me in dressing room...Yea....the people at Steak and SHake loved the story about Beth......and her dancing date....LOVED IT DAD.....YOU ARE SO FUNNY!!!
3. Getting flowers from my oldest daughter at work after proclaiming I would kill my husband Jim if he wastes money and send me flowers at work....and calling him ......and grilling him if he got me flowers.....AND IT WAS LINDSEY>..yea, the guy that sits next to me at work thinks I"m mean crazy at the same time and can you believe it he was sticking up for JIM!!!!hahahaha
4. GOING TO DOUBT on birthday night.....because they had a promotion....bring your bucket and we fill it up with popcorn for 50cents.....yea!!!!.....For all you weight watchers who want to eat popcorn......."LARGE QUALITIES"......
WHAT a RELIGIOUS BIRTHDAY I HAD THIS YEAR>.....wait till you hear the best part....
on saturday when I was shopping with Lindsey at the DOLLAR TREE (and boy was it packed because of the economy all anyone can afford is dollar toilet paper)we came home and Jim said...that my neighbor "MARY ANN" (REAL NAME) had been baking and thought of us and dropped off a cake for us.....on saturday.....and guess what the cake looked like on top.....you won't believe it....but it really looked like she iced it to look like............." A CROSS"..........HOW APPROPRIATE>>>>>>>and wierd!!!!!
so ......on my religiously 48th birthday....I say thank you to all my brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews (thanks for facebook wishes) and mom and dad and kids and husband that made this birthday a real memory for me!!!! LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!
NOTE: As I was sitting there listening to my mom and dad commenserate over chili 5 ways.........and I was laughing till ........well, it was not a pretty site.......but I thought"HOW LUCKY I AM"............." I HAVE THESE FUNNY PEOPLE THAT CARE ABOUT ME" .........and to tell you the truth........underneath all of it..........HUMOR and the ability to laugh, find the humor in situation......to LAUGH your way out of a situation......all came from these 2 people sitting across from me at STEAK and SHAKE.......and my 7 brothers and sisters. WE ALL HAVE THIS HUMOR ELEMENT.........and our kids know it. My kids and most of their memories of me involve me doing something humorous or stupid.....
SO THANKS FAMILY AND MOM AND DAD!!!!! YOU ALREADY GAVE ME MY PRESENT!!!!....I can laugh at myself.....and life. WHAT a GIFT....
